Project Summary

Writing by, for, and about Aboriginal people contains insights that are meaningful to Native and non-Native peoples. These writings convey traditional Native wisdom, which is important to building respect for Aboriginal cultures and teaching others to think about the world in an Aboriginal way.

Wisdom in the Aboriginal world is not found in one place; it is held by many people. Therefore, it is our responsibility to learn as much as possible from as many sources as possible so we have a wide range of understanding. In this regard, nitoyi.org will include an online catalogue of Aboriginal resources and a virtual library where users will be able to access complete works by, for, and about Aboriginal people.
